This coin is the 5th of the 12 coins the Chinese Zodiac serie, this time honouring
the Rabbit. On the reverse there will be a portrait of Jean de la Fontaine and all the animals in the
Chinese Zodiac.
Jean de la Fontaine
French writer Jean de la Fontaine published his first collection of
animal fables in 1668, with the second collection spanning the years 1678 and 1679. A fable is a brief story, in prose or verse, that features animals, plants, inanimate objects, or forces of nature which are given human qualities, and that illustrates a moral lesson.
