For 200 years, the Vienna Musikverein has been home to the Friends of Music Society. Celebrations include great names from the world of art.
The Friends of Music Society was founded in Vienna in 1812 and has its home in the Musikverein. The year 2012 is given over entirely to the 200th anniversary, the starting shot for which falls at the beginning of the concert season in autumn 2011. The grand Friends of Music festival is celebrated with a huge program of artists and concerts. A total of 401 concerts in 61 cycles are on the program.
